Traffic Counter empowered by LoRaWAN
An intelligent traffic counter connected to the LoRaWAN network can transmit and record the number of incoming vehicles in urban area.
The installed traffic counter counts the number of passing vehicles and sends the data via LoRaWAN. It covers both directions of traffic.
The measurement is done via an ultrasonic distance sensor that can be used during day and night.
The collected data can be stored in a database and used for real-time dashboards or analysis. The management of the traffic situation as well as the generation of critical forecasts on environmental pollution are possible use cases.

The sensor “listens” and collects data at the roadside, for example. This sensor data then flows via the LoRaWAN communication network to the service provider’s central data store. The data is then made available via web service and can be viewed on the end device. The data can ultimately be visualized or processed depending on the application.
This traffic counter is not an out of the box solution and requires appropriate installation and configuration by the user.
