Seismic waves can not only cause significant damage, they can also be a source of false readings for highly sensitive equipment. This application can be used to create maps in which these waves and their strength can be mapped. In this way, subsequent calibration can be ensured while reducing the potential for errors.

In addition, this prototype can play an important role in the development of earthquake early warning systems. Especially in high-risk areas, such approaches could be effectively implemented to visualize and store seismic data in real time.

The technology used is LoRaWAN, which is much cheaper than the standard radio technology. Especially for early warning systems, real-time data are in focus to ensure a fast response, this is possible with the help of LoRaWAN and at the same time cost-effective to implement.
